The first Annual Get together of COCKPITBUILDERS.COM Members will be held on Saturday the 2nd and Sunday the 3rd of June, 2012.
As planned, it will be hosted at the new FLIGHTDECK SOLUTIONS Facility ( located 30 minutes north of Toronto, Ontario Canada) and coincide with the 2012 FDS Open House.
Tons of good time on the Agenda, finally meeting Cockpitbuilders Crewmembers from all over the world as well as an equally enthusiastic crowd of FDS builders. Guest Speakers, Open Discussions all planed and on the Agenda.
We will have more details shortly on this two days event, including details on accommodations, transfer from and to Toronto International Airport (CYYZ/Pearson) etc.
The folks at Flightdeck Solutions are aiming to have their B737NG Demonstrator FBPT with 3-Channel Collimated Visual System in place and running. Bring your charts and checklists as you will be flying!

Ruediger Ebert released FSSymphony as freeware. The program acts as smart interface between the Microsoft® Flight Simulator (2004, FSX), FSUIPC and the PoKys56E® Ethernet interface. For cockpit builders with no programming experience FSSymphony provides all relevant standard FS Controls in a drop down list and lets them quickly and easily assign to the appropriate inputs and outputs. The program can also act as bridge to the SIOC programming language. Each of the PoKeys56E® digital inputs, outputs, analog inputs and encoders can be assigned to a SIOC variable. This gives cockpit builders a maximum of flexibility and the opportunity to interface none standard FS controls and own SIOC scripts to the PoKeys56E® interface. FAA To Charge Companies For Online Charts, No Access For IndividualsThe continuous increase in the cost of general aviation has already been shown to be damaging the industry and the economy. So, now the FAA wants to further contribute to the problem. Tax dollars and other aviation fees already pay for these charts. And, for us here this is a real hit to virtual aviation since many of us rely on the access to online charts. If you are interested in expressing your concern over this there is an online petition that has been started to express concern over this to the FAA.

So, now the FAA wants to further contribute to the problem. Tax dollars and other aviation fees already pay for these charts. And, for us here this is a real hit to virtual aviation since many of us rely on the access to online charts.  Smart Sim Tech has officially released its new output cards. Each card can support 24 outputs and are broken down into 3 groups of 8 outputs using a 10pin ribbon cable to connect it to your sim. We have 2 versions of this card, the R1 version which has a built in adjustable power supply (from 1.2v to 10v) and the R2 version which is the same card, just no power supply. MY BOOKMARKS - Ever read a post and know your build isn't at that point yet, and when you get there you really would like to be able to find that post again. Just click the "ADD BOOKMARK" Button in the topic list and now it will be saved to your profile so that when you need it again, use the "My Bookmark" Menu on the top of the page and you can find it easilly again. DRAFTS-Ever type that LONG post or private message, just to have you click send and Internet explorer totally craps out! Not anymore. The Board will automatically save a draft every 30 seconds while you type it, as well you ...

In light of the recent re-install of various software on the Server, I have elected to install a few utilities that I am sure some of you will find quite useful. MY BOOKMARKS - Ever read a post and know your build isn't at that point yet, and when you get there you really would like to be able to find that post again. Just click the "ADD BOOKMARK" Button in the topic list and now it will be saved to your profile so that when you need it again, use the "My Bookmark" Menu on the top of the page and you can find it easilly again. DRAFTS-Ever type that LONG post or private message, just to have you click send and Internet explorer totally craps out! Not anymore. The Board will automatically save a draft every 30 seconds while you type it, as well you can see the new button (Save Draft) next to the post or send buttons. You can access your drafts through the profile menu after the fact. Member Location in Post- Wonder where your fellow members are? In their post profile it now lists their location. Member Map- A Fun little Google tool that lets us show our general locations in the world. Please visit and at the bottom of the map click the (Click here to add your pin) this takes you to edit your profile and select your location. Finally click save your profile change and you will be added to the map. Stay Tunned for more changes. Trev

 We all apologize for the problems encountered during the last few days. Actually it appears that the site had been under a malicious Attack just after we announced our 1000 members imminent milestone. No need for blackbox analysis , ADN tracing or Cockpit recorders to shed light on that crash. Lets forget it all , get ready for more , and resume fun as usual. Membership is 987 at this very moment and the draw is getting closer than ever. Welcome back aboard folks. The Staff
