Homebuilt TQ has been sold
« on: May 17, 2018, 02:31:19 PM »
It found a worthy buyer, so hopefully it will help power a Boeing sim again some day  :)

Hi John,

I have no idea why on earth you would want it aside from adding it to your junk collection  ;D, but unfortunately, my answer is still the same...no packing and shipping, especially across the border, what with Nafta and all the trade disputes  ;D ;D
Seriously now, I would gladly let you have it, but too much hassle to crate it and deal with customs documents. Since you drove to Texas once I believe to look at more junk for your collection, maybe you can take a drive to Ontario and experience our wonderful black fly season  ;)

Cheers,
Mau

In case anyone in the US really, really wants this TQ (God only knows why), I would reluctantly offer to drive it to one of the three Canada-US borders within reasonable driving distance from my home. There would be an additional charge to cover my driving expenses in addition to the $200.US I am asking for the TQ.
The choices are:
Windsor-Detroit border for an extra $130.00
Queenston-Lewiston bridge near Niagara Falls for an extra $75.00
Alexandria Bay crossing (near Kingston ON. and Watertown N.Y.) for an extra $100.00

I really hope nobody takes me up on this but that is a possible option if you twist my arm and I can't stand the pain. ;D ;D

Hi Maurice,

Got your PM, no worries about any comments  :D

As for the Throttle Assy, will you find out the nearest FedEX store location and ask them about "Pack & Ship"? They will pack it for you and charge a fee, then they will ship it as well and deal with any customs paperwork.

So, if you can find the closest place that will do it, packing and shipping would be easy, since they would do all the work. As for driving, I would drive and meet you, but Karen and I just have too much going on right now; otherwise, I would be on the road...

Oh yeah, you ask why I want it; well, for the same reason you kept it...the story behind it is worth having, along with using it. That is the thing with me, I buy aircraft items for the story just as much as the reason for getting it for the simulator.

Kind Regards,

John

All this means that your TQ is now a highly desirable and historical item in the simulation world. Do not part with it now, wait 10 years and it might fetch a six figure value at the Barrett Jackson 2028 Scottsdale Auction. !!

Hi Jack,

You may well be right. I forgot that flight simulation people are slightly deranged to put it mildly and keep paying exhorbitant prices to fulfill their childhood fantasies  ;D
I probably would also have gone to great lengths to get one of these relics when I was just starting with flight simulation and nothing else was available. Lucky for me, I escaped the madness before the nice men with white coats came to take me away  ;D  ;D
