Title: ACE - Officially buyer beware
Post by: Garys on July 11, 2018, 10:51:36 PM
After many years of poor service and complaints about Aircraft Controls Engineering  (ACE) from cockpit builders from all over the world, they have been  listed on the Ontario consumer protection beware list.

From what I've heard in the past, ACE were a good supplier. I have used one in the past, and they seem to be very well built.

Shame to see what happened, but I guess they might just be overloaded. You have FlyEngravity which almost received the same *fraud flag*. Something doesn't really add up... Sounds like half the story to me...

Sorry, but Ace have been a shocking supplier for some years now. This is not a recent or isolated instance, indeed there are many threads on forums with complaints about Ace. The full story is that Ace over promise, under deliver, fail to communicate etc etc

Wow Gary that is crazy! But not a surprise. I knew something was not right with this company - do you remember when I proposed to start making Yokes ourselves? Lol. But in any case, Here is my experience with them. About six months ago I inquired on their Facebook website about a pair of linked yokes for my 747 cockpit. After some negotiating, The owner gave me a "best he could do" price of roughly 2,500 Cdn and one month to get the yokes. Upon searching the web however - I found other folks paying over 5K Us for the same thing or for the equivalent 737 setup. This was a huge red flag for me, as I believe prices should not change based on the day of the month - or the customer you deal with. So I decided to buy 2 cast 737 yokes from England and paint them brown and install them myself on my existing linked setup, they look great and total cost with shipping and all was about 500 cdn. Upon searching for that old message exchange on my facebook this morning, the messages were deleted by them - geez I wonder why. :2cw:
