Worldflight VATSIM Audio-Configuration Suggestions?
« on: October 07, 2018, 04:44:08 PM »
B737 pit with two CPFlight  ASP.
On CMD and F/O Side are 13"  laptops (called EFB-clients 1&2) with Vpilot Clients incl. Headsets.
The Vpilot Server is on the Main-P3D-Server.
FSC Flightcontrols connected to the P3D-Server too.
Com-Switches on the yokes are configured in FSUIPC.
On every EFB-Client ProSim Audio is for Intercom-purposes installed.
ProSim Audio is on the P3D-Server and on the Instructor-Station installed, too.
Audio-Card on P3D-Server should do the VATSIM-connection via vPilot client.

Vpilot via Clients connect to VATSIM-Network but does not receive signal for Transmission when pushing the Coms on the Yokes....

Where is the bug?

First basic thing to check.....

Do you have your PTT (Com) button configured in your VPilot client?  It needs to be the same keyboard assignment as what you have configured in FSUIPC for your yokes.

Hi Bernhard,

I am sure you did this, but just in case you didn't, give it a quick read:

[Running vPilot Over a Network

If you would like to run the main vPilot user interface on a machine other than the one that runs your simulator, you can do so by running vPilot in a split networked configuration. In this configuration, you will actually run two copies of vPilot. The first copy runs in "host" mode on the same machine as the simulator. The second copy runs in "remote" mode on the other computer. The remote copy communicates with the host copy over the network.

To launch vPilot in host or remote mode, you can use the special shortcuts that were created in your start menu programs list when you installed vPilot. Again, on the sim computer, launch vPilot in "host" mode. On the other computer, the one where you want to see the vPilot user interface, launch vPilot in "remote" mode. The first time you launch vPilot in remote mode, it will prompt you to go into the Settings window and enter the IP address of the host machine. You can also configure which port vPilot will use to connect to the host. The port setting must be configured for the same value in both the host and remote copies. This port must also be opened in the firewall on the host computer.

Note that both copies must be running the exact same version of vPilot in order for them to connect to each other.

You'll notice that there are two shortcuts for starting vPilot in host mode and two for starting it in remote mode. One shortcut includes voice communications, and one doesn't. This allows you to choose which machine will handle connections to the VATSIM voice servers for communicating with ATC. You must choose either the host or the remote to handle voice communications. You cannot have voice comms running on both the host and the remote at the same time.]

Also, just a quick question, is your SimConnect working properly? From my memory, that is one problem I had with the PTT not working across the network and with VATSIM. However, from what I understand, you're saying the problem is just with VATSIM not receiving your transmission right? So, how about connecting with a simple headset to your VATSIM account to make sure you can actually transmit and receive without using vPilot (not using vPilot in a networked manner). This way you'll know it's not a VATSIM issue or a problem with your account...

Lastly, when you try to login and use the PTT to transmit, is your entire sim running with power to the radios and are you tuned to frequency of the controller(s)?

Hope this helps,

John
