Hi all,

I'm in the proceress of finishing a new TQ, and I would like to have the trim wheels operational. I can easily get them to run correctly from the three way yoke trim switch, by simply wiring them to a supply that changes the polarity depending on the switch pressed.

What I would prefer to do, is have the switch control the trim itself via FSUIPC, and then have that control the motor but I have no idea how to go about it.

Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

What software are you using to model the 737?
Building a full scale 737-800 AATD for home use. Majority of hardware is from Sismo Solutions, software is Prosim under P3D. An AOPA member and LifeTime member of National Association of Flight Instructors
Please note that I am a self-employed professional cockpit builder that provides consulting to defense contractors and civilian schools and airlines.

Since I am not sure how far you have gotten with PM as your choice, Prosim supports this function natively.

You will need an input/output board that has a "motor" output function.  I am using the Open Cockpits DC Motor Card with Sim A.

Driving the trim wheels as an output is easy, but implementing the trim wheels for an input (to manually crank trim) is complex and well beyond the scope of a home cockpit builder.

Thanks guys,

I've been using PM since 2014 but my Pit has been in storage for nearly three years since we moved house. So everything is setup to use that, also to be honest I couldn't afford the new pricing of ProSim; it seems they are pricing out the home cockpit builders.

Thanks Fred, I think I'll chuck the question over to the Arduino forum, someone there may have a solution; if not it will be cranked manually.  8)

One last though is regarding X-Plane, would it be something that could be done easier with X-Plane 11. I do like X-Plane, which has come on massively over the past two years, that is also a route I could try.
