Title: Airliners clocks
Post by: jackpilot on September 22, 2009, 09:38:29 AM
Very nice airliners clocks are posted on EBay, the big 3"1/2 variety.
Mechanical ones, 12 or 24H, go for a mint $200+
The electronic/electric ones for much less because they are virtually impossible to feed with 400Hz power.
My question (Mike P. ??) is there a way (affordable) to go around that?

What are the impossibility factors associated with the 400 Hz power?

If it's a lack of 400 Hz power, it's possible to build a small 400 Hz inverter. It's not terribly expensive if you have +/- 24 VDC.

There's an inverter project in Building Recreational Flight Simulators
