Anyone knows of a nice tutorial for building linked control columns? I want to go ahead and give this a shot. I flew yesterday in the Project 727 simulator of my very good friend Joe Maldonado, and nothing can beat the immersion factor of having linked controls and flying with someone else. Thanks for any info!

Hi Efrain

I do not think that there is One tutorial, if you check this forum or others you will see many systems, some more sophisticated than others but most achieving the goal.
It is not that simple because is goes beyond linking, you will need centering systems and springs/gas struts for correct feel.
Depends also on several factors including what kind of yokes/columns  you have, ie, cut short or with gearing ?
What kind of equipment   you have, MIG/TIG welding or crazy glue?, what kind of materials you intend to use, ABS tubing or steel /alu beams or rods...etc etc.

My 2ยข: build as strong as you can, metal is better, get help from a local machine shop, and first of all make a precise plan with all measurements before welding /cutting/glueing!

I provide the column head units for linking twin yokes and they work great! You are welcome to copy them if you don't want to buy them, my units comprise of the elbow fitting, a circular block with the hollow yoke axle and needle roller bearing, (axle hollow for wiring) a 3:2 geared potentiometer drive for Aileron motion and positive stops for 180 degree rotation.
