Measurements question

I am looking and using a file (737-AutoCad-2000_1246038037.dwg) that was from the other cockpit site downloads area by someone named "Mterm" and it had 5 stars.  It seems like it has everything and is very well done I think.  But when I compare one of the DU bezel sizes with the size given in the Marcuspilot measuremtn document on this forum the sizes are off by a few mm.   I know that isnt much when we are talking about a single DU that is around 210mm tall but I am concerned that over the length of the mip i will be totally off.   According to this drawing the mip backer is 1462 mm in length.   Can anyone comment on or confirm if the drawing is good enough or is there one similiar that is better to use?

Hey Scott,

as far as Autocad drawings go, that is as accurate as you can get.  now if you are familliar with autocad, you can select everything and scale the drawing.  Scale the entire drawing so that the mip is exactly 1500mm long, and everything else should fall into place.

If you want accurate dimentions, Markuspilot uploaded his drawings here to the download section.  I would have to say, that those are the most accurate measurements going.

Remember if you have a CAD file that is out of scale, just use the SCALE function. That way you fine tune any dimension that is out.

Unfortunately I dont have Autocad.  I have Corel Draw which doesnt have that feature that I could see anyway.   I am thinking of getting Illustrator.    Maybe I should also bite the bullet and get Autocad as well..

CorelDraw should allow you to scale as long as the image is vectorized. You may have to vectorize (trace) it first. I have CorelDraw X4 and can do it, older versions may not be able to. If anyone needs help, scaling only takes a few minutes. Just PM me.

I have tried a few times to up load the file and after I add the file and submit it it shows up with the file size at 0kb... I think I maybe doing something wrong

Ok, well for the download section, the idea is you go into the section you want to upload the file to.  At the bottom of the page is a link called "Add a download" you basically fill in the information and hit submit..  I know it is all a little different for us, but hopefully we will get it sorted out.

If you still have troubles, let me know and we can see if we can sort it out for ya.
