Joe Lavery

Hi all,

I'm in the process of designing a new TQ, basically to have it motorised. Never having gone this route I don't know what motor size or revolution I should get. Should it be 12 volt, 30RPM 15RPM or less?

I intend to use the Open Cockpits 6 DC motor card which hopefully will drive th motors.
Any advice, help or instruction would be very much apprecited. I don't have any knowledge of SIOC so do you think I might be biting off more than I can chew?  :-\

Cheers
Joe.

Joe,

I am currently building the Simparts 737 TQ and am using the DC motor they supplied with the kit.

The motor supplied is a ModelCraft 200 rpm motor with 6mm output shaft.   Part number is B/N 227544.

This is hooked to some gears and uses a chain drive to drive the trim wheels.

Servos are used for the Throttle levers.

I will be using Phidgets for this setup.

Hi Joe

Check David site, some very elaborate systems with motors and clutches.
If you contact him he will certainly help with info...
