PFD & MFD choices

I am currently searching for potential screens to use as PFD's and MFD's in an attempt to creating a panel for Avidyne's Entegra glass cockpit. IRL the screens are 10.4" each and they both are 8.5"w x 10.7"h overall with a 800 x 600 resolution.  I have looked at a few photo frames however I'm not sure if they are able to be used as a second  monitor or if they would have to be modified for the duty. Does anyone know of any screens that are close to this size that would be a good base to start with?

Hmm where have I seen that shot? LOL.. I plan on using 2 15"ldcs for the pilot and co pilot side with a 17" or 19" for the center and I will in corporate the engine gauge stack in that. What software are you planning on using?

This is what I'm looking at currently but looking at their other products they are also developing a g1000 setup and that might also be something to look at. If they get the g1000 programmed correctly for turboprop aircraft gauge wise and tuned correctly for twin turboprop aircraft I'd probably go for the g1000 setup other wise I kinda like the avidyne setup with normal gauges for the twin stack and Flight Illusion has such a beautiful setup specifically for this purpose even if its modeled after a KA350 instead of a B200.

This is very interesting. The best I can tell this Avidyne package runs on a network seperate from FS- this is excellent news for those wanting to build a cockpit and only pay very little for glass software.

Matt, I have done a little research and that software does not run over a network. YOu may know that but just a FYI......

Yeah, it was late the other night after I realized from viewing the topic at the F1 forum that the Avidyne package def. must run on the same PC as the sim does, but that the G1000 pacakge is supposed to run over the network on a seperate machine. Very nice!

     I knew the avidyne was suppose to be run on the same pc and that's what I was planning on but the thought of the g1000 setup has me intrigued so I will probably wait until its finalized to see if they get the MFD config finished to make sure it can display everything correctly or possibly edit the mfd panel image to not show the engine gauges but just the moving map and use Flight Illusion's king air engine stack like I would for the avidyne setup. Just for future reference both the G1000 and the Avidyne PFD use 10.4" panels with the G1000 using 1024x768 while the Avidyne is 800x600. However the Avidyne MFD is also a 10.4" with 800x600 and the G1000 MFD that is seen in the Cessna Mustang and the new King Air 90 and 200 series STC Garmin developed uses a 15" panel also displaying I believe 1024x768.

     Although going back to school has a way of killing funds so I probably won't be starting the cockpit for a while longer. This will atleast give me more time to plan everything out better and not have to back track when building does commence. I am truly hoping by that point that the b200 will be out from flight1 for fsx although I'm not holding my breath.

Thats good that you will not know what you are going to do because I am pretty sure there will be another option on the market, but not right away.... Take a look at what is running on the laptop in this picture:

Would that be this http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w227/WittieM/a500.jpg? Interesting as I think I know exactly what that is and its only a coincidence that I recognized it. If those are clickable buttons that are assigned on the sides then it would be an almost drop in install on a touch screen tft panel without a whole lot of extra work except for the rotary knobs.

I don't think it is what you think it is...  ;D I am not at liberty to say much else... And as of now those are not clickable but that would be a possibility...
