I ran P3D v4 for a long time on Win10.  No issues that I can report related to the OS.  As mentioned, just make sure all your hardware drivers are updated and you should be good.  For me, it has been the most stable OS so far.

Also, highly recommend you disable the automatic updates and only do them manually when you are ready if you haven't already.  Just Google "Disable Windows 10 automatic updates."  Like others, I have found automatic updates can potentially break things without you realizing it.  The big one for me is my networking between PCs often suddenly stops working correctly.  So I prefer to be prepared to deal with those kind of issues on my terms.  It also gives me an opportunity to do a system backup before I do the updates in case something goes south and I need to roll back.

Made some more progress on my sim back wall this week.  It's starting to take shape.  Anyone know where I can get a 737 middle folding jump seat?  I also need to find the second observer seat but I'll probably have to end up making one.

On an unrelated note to Bernard's dark secret, I got Prepar3D installed finally...what I mean is, I purchased it when v4 first came out and never downloaded it until today...am I really getting that slow?!

Any hoot, it's installed on the same PC as my FSX, but on a new SSD drive that also has W10; the same W10 that was a fight to get going. Kept getting BSOD, but after updating the BIOS and related motherboard files from ASROCK, it works really well now.

Okay, I gotta read up on using all my FSX add-ons with P3D, but does anyone have any tidbits on which addons they felt worked great and those that didn't work at all? Be nice to start with those working ones first since I already racked my brain with the W10 hoot-nanny....

I think Bernard is right in that by now, anything made for P3Dv4 is stable so you shouldn't have any major problems.

Pretty much same for P3Dv5 at this point, which if you're doing a clean install I'd recommend you might as well move to.  Unless your graphics card doesn't support DX12, which is required.

Slowly undoing all the conversions I started when I decided to try FS2020.

I'm leaving 2020 in the dust bin. Going back full time to X-Plane.

Just got the autopilot re-converted back and added a few more functionality tidbits.

Granted, the project has made the B1900 sim better overall, so I have few regrets during this brief interlude into a split 2020/X-Plane world.

I'm not getting any younger so... this feels right.

Next up is my scrapped FMC project for X-Plane. I have a gorgeous Universal FMC that I'm coding for X-Plane / B1900

just a quick note   please don't ask how  because I will not tell you but the why is because I can lol

Bernard, there is a LOT going on in that photo!

1. Are you being pulled over for too wide a load or flying too low?

2. Are you removing an aircraft that landed on the freeway?

3. That semi in back.. at first glance it looks like it's hauling a B29 nose?

4. Looking closer at that semi.. it looks like a Mack truck hauling a very large round thing

5. And that very low smoke stream across the freeway... what is that?

6. On the aircraft in tow, you can see a prominent "B"... Is that a Redbull aircraft?

bernard S

1... is state police escorts from beginning to end point so permit load

2...No opted to transport gear down

3...Unrelated to me ( thats my story)

4...yes

5...close air support ;-)

6... no

Whatever it is Bernard is up to...   I'll take care of it with my Predator Drone... ;D   Just kidding of course...

Photo of me at the controls taken at Holloman AFB at their Drone Training Center.  I had a chance to blow up a few tanks in Iraq (simulated), but the experience left me with a strange feeling that this is what they do for real in the world today.  As a side note, it takes two people to fire a missile at a target.  Both people have to have pressed the trigger, and release at the same time -- after which, the missile is launched and about 30 seconds later the target is destroyed.

On this note...   The world is weaponizing AI at an alarming rate...

Hey Bernard,

Interesting photo of Command Center Ops...  The unit I was in is "ship container size" to be deployed remotely.  That was years ago, so no doubt that technology has vastly changed.

Best wishes with your new project.  As usual for anything that you do -- it will be Spectacular!
