Hey Guys,

We have developed a J-rail setup for use on any airliner seat type although mainly aimed at the 737 crew seat.

The system consists of  :

4 x heavy duty steel J-rails that bolt to the deck.

4 x heavy duty steel runners/clutches that bolt to the base of any crew seat leg. The runners have four roller bearings that make contact with the j-rail. They slide perfectly and smoothly.

Trust me...these will never break.

These new items are part of a larger crew seat base we have held under wraps....but as many guys have home made or weber (fixed etc) type seats already, we thought the runners and rails would come in handy for conversions and be cheaper.

The full setup also has a locking-positioning mechanism with handle that also fixes to the deck. The lever is at perfect height and easily accessible to the seated pilot.

I'm always thinking about guys on budgets...probably my main concern when pricing .....so these parts are all available individually. Buy a piece at a time if you need.

Tomorrow i will post up some photos and prices.

Post if you are interested and we will start churning them out....let me know what you think! :)

Hi Dave
I have two of these Weber (L1011)
The base is supposed to be bolted to the floor as the "railing" is under the seat itself and allows some bront-back and side travel .
Not enough though for the 737 very tight quarters.
Can your railing fit this type of  base.

I'd be interested. I'm getting tired of replacing light duty force-feed rack roller rails. The plastic wheel axles keep breaking under the load.

They look like crap too even though they serve their purpose...until they start breaking.

 Nice Seats...

Yep, happy with them, they even are electric  with the proper power supply which I do not have, but the manual controls work.
Hey, they were not that nice when I got them!!

Thanks trev. As you can see from the shots we mig welded the butted joints on the prototype , the ones we send out will be tig welded , much smoother neater weld.

Just wondering if these would go good with our seats, also purchased from Nick at APHS, and with our cockpit dimensions. What size are the rails and what do we need specifically to mount the clutches to the bottom of the seats?

Hi Efe.

Rails are 73 specific from a design point, but would fit most flight decks that incorporate a j system.

Travel would be same in most decks i would say.

The rails are positioned to suit your seat leg/base/clutch positions. If you have set up your side wall area to accommodate your seat's sideways (outboard) movement all will be fine. In other words...if you have followed the same rough floor shape as a 737 there will be no problem.

All that is required is a 8mm hole (approx) drilled through a horizontal flange.... such as the ones at each weber style seat foot.

Guys,

Plenty of man hours to produce these items, but we could send them as a kit (if required) to keep the price as low as possible. (Small amount of assembly and setting the bearing position to suit the rail snuggly).

Looking at around,$500-$600 fully assembled for 4 rails and 4 clutches.

Pictures of the locking system and handle to come.

Dave, how far left (or right) does the seat move when operated?
