OK guys, here's an easy one.  Re-construction finally ended yesterday when my Bass shakers arrived and I got them installed under the rudder pedals, which allows me to right my MIP.  I've now begun picking away at wiring up my MIP as I wait on the electrician to arrive and "give me more power".

So, back and flood lighting....  Can someone run me through exactly what does what on the MIP as far lighting.  These are the controls I need info on (in other words, what exactly brightens, or darkens when control is turned):

CAPT side MAIN PANEL pot
CAPT side BACKGROUND pot
CAPT side AFDS FLOOD pot

FO side MAIN PANEL pot

Thanks,

G'Day Warren,

This is how I set up my lighting...
Cpt and FO Main Panel is flood lighting over MIP
AFDS is flood lighting over MCP
Background is "text" or "IBL" lighting.

Thanks Nat.  Exactly the answer I was looking for.  Appreciate the effort.

No problem Warren.
It's probably not 100% " Boeing"...just the way I  wired it.

This is what we do:

Main Panel Captain and F/O:  IBL Backlighting  (Capt's covers centre panels as well) using separate dimmers.

Background: Dims our LED lighting above MCP

AFDS: Dims lighting behind MCP and controls the lighting across the MIP (we include the underglare openings on each side)

Hi Warren,

Couple of questions:

Which Bass shakers type and why under rudder pedals? I currently have two Aura-Bass shakers and plan to install them under the seats, then will see about adding more.

Thanks,
Nick

HI Nick.

I have two for under the seats also.  I figure there are three points of contact with the cockpit...  feet, hands, butt.

Can't do anything about the hands, but I will have feet and butt covered.  I didn't worry about putting the cash down for the aura's.  I just bought four lower end 100W shakers from a company in Germany off of Amazon and a couple of 500W 12V amps.  My thought process is that I'm building a loud, noisy, airplane...  not a high end home theater setup (I already have one of those).  As long as I can feel the concrete joints on take-off and landing, and the gear coming up or touching down, I'm good.

Thanks Warren!

I took only two Aura Bass shakers so far, depending on how they will perform I might also go with cheap speakers for the rest.
