Can you tell me on a 737 what are those things that look like handles in front the windshields?

They are handles.

Used to help slide the seat in place, adjust the seat height and in turbulence.

They are also used in an emergency to help keep you in the seat when you are having too much fun flying your Sim, and your wife, after calling you for dinner four times already, has finally had enough and begins to physically extract you from the cockpit.  Hang on for dear life!   It's a dire situation that not many are able to survive
