I am building my overhead with opencockpits cards. The annunciators run off an IO card, and need only a single ground. The question is how do I get all the annunciators to use the single ground?

1) run all the grounds to one point and wire nut them all together?
2) some sort of distribution board
3) something else..?

I'm a total noob when it comes to this kind of hardware. Any advice would be welcome.

Hi Randy

One thing we suggest is all the DC power supplies you have should have common grounds. What essentially this is is connecting all your power supply "-" together with a terminal strip or wire nut etc.

So if you were wiring led's to your OC card essentially your wire nutting all you led negatives together and putting them on one terminal of the OC card and the + side of the led through a resistor is going to each output of the OC card.

Thanks Trevor.

A "terminal strip" is what I should look for? I definitely was imagining some sort of bus or termination for all the grounds just wasn't clear on what that might be?

Any brands recommended?

Would a bread board be something I could use?

Trevor Hale

Breadboards are good for testing, but not really a permanent solution. Perhaps you could fins something a little more permanent.
