I am having the complete set (10 panels)printed on mat vinyl adhesive.
Will use the same idea as Brian did for the Airbus (pic below)

So far it is a one shot deal with the printer (US)
price in the $150 range

If any interest for a bigger run, PM me.

Hi Jack

I tried to PM you, but for some reason the board will not take the PM message!!
Trust you are well. Are these vinyl panels for the 737? if so, then please count me in for a set

Hey David it worked..got 4 of the same PM from you...lol

Sean, the pic is from Brian Williamson, he cleverly used mini pushbuttons as fake brakers . They are available on Ebay by bags of 100 for real cheap.

This is a rough sketch of what I intend to do.
Vinyl text strips are laid on an acrylic strip and that strip is laid on a panel.
Real holes are drilled in the panel to insert the mini pushbuttons.

I will get a backlightable sample very shortly and report.

Jack

Sorry about that - according to my PM "Sent Posts", they did not go, I must raise this with Trevor. Apologies for posting here, but I need to continue until I can sort out the PM with Trevor

Your idea looks great and I had not realised that we could backlight them - even better.

David

Hey Jack, can I ask why vinyl sheets?  Is this for added durability or does it give better backlighting ability?  I'm wondering what the difference might be from adhesive paper or transparency film.

I would be interested in a set as well Jack if they turn out looking halfway decent.  Great idea.

Before the Go Ahead on printing, I have to check the final size ratio of the templates.

I have checked every possible source on the net and forums and the dimensions are conflicting.

This is a call to Ivar (real panels) and Mike Leavy (real airplane) or anyone having access to the real 737 gear.

I need
-the precise diameter of the CB holes(mm or ")
-And the dims of mainly P6-1 / P6-2 / P6-3/P-18

Count me in Jack!

Hey all, ill get those dimentions but it will prob take a week. Im out flying now but without a tape measure. O and incase anyone was interested.. The cb panels on the 737 are not backlit. There are cb flood lights that light the panels controlled from the overhead. Always fun when working out a system problem at night looking for cb's. Always keep your flashlights handy!

Mike Leavy
The 737 800/900... Fastest airplane with the gear down!

jackpilot

Thanks Mike
Just PA the crowd back there..."this is the Flightdeck,  any passenger carrying a tape measure, please contact one of the flight attendants...

BTW WE SIMMERS always improve on Boeing design, hence  much needed CB backlighting.
