Hello CPTs,
I have recently bought a FDS CDU flowed the directions from FDS. I was able to fire it up screen comes on, dimmer works with the screen, EXC light and MSG light only... no other keys will backlight.
I am using Sim-Avionics for the FD 12v supply to the CDU. Please if anyone has any recommendations please respond.

Have you installed the test software mentioned on page 7 of the manual?
It's supposed to allow you to test all functions including the backlight. Presumably you turned up the brightness knob.
Have you contacted the manufacturer? Maybe they can suggest something.
Yes I installed the CDU test software however when I select the backlit radio box everything lights up except the keys.
Hi There, I'm not a SimA user but I have a pair of FDS CDUs in my Prosim set up. I'm pretty sure from memory that the keys don't light up until the aircraft is powered up with the APU, Ground power or the engine gens!
