Title: Almost Ready!
Post by: Bob Reed on October 27, 2014, 04:27:04 PM
Well the Boeing 737-800 is in the hangar and all her panels are back in place. She has had a thorough inspection and has a clean bill of health. The office has been prepped and printers filled with paper for printing out whatever paper work is needed. Pilots are packing their bags and getting ready to go. I will leave in several hours to help finish up all the prep. Dig into your wallet's and get ready to participate in the way that all of you can.. Donate to All Children's Hospital! http://worldflight.cockpitbuilders.com/donate.html (http://worldflight.cockpitbuilders.com/donate.html) I am going to try harder this year to keep you folks more informed to what is going on. Not always easy during an event like this but I will TRY! We will be running 3 streams live at all time and there will be live chat on those steams. We are looking to break last years total and we can only do this with all your help!

OH...  And the Engine start switches require a push in motion prior to turning them :)

Thank you guys for your comments and guidance, I just want to let you know that today was another test day on the sim, sound is great, P3dv2.4 is working like a champ, overall systems check on the sim are ready to go, but I have a couple of unresolved issues...
Can't get Active Sky Next to connect to the sim and can't get Vpilot to detect a push to talk switch on the avionics  machine, can anybody help on this, I need to share a switch over the network.
AND THERE IS A SURPRISE FOR ALL OF THOSE ATTENDING WFT2014,  If interested on finding out what's new on WFT2014, you should attend. I'm willing to bet that Rey would love it! INTERESTED YET?

Did you get ASN working?

There was a thread over at http://prosim737.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=7161 (http://prosim737.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=7161)
just recently on this.

I think in summary it said: read the step by step guide, make sure simconnect is run on server and client and watch your firewall.

Maybe I could get the button to work across wideFS instead if needed. Shouldn't be an issue Sam I can do that when I get there if needed.

Thank you Miles, and Trev, I have firewall off on both machines,  ASN is running on the same machine as P3d   I have read the tread, can't  figure it out!  I guess I'll keep trying...  Cheers,

Sam,

Just heard from bob, he will help when he gets there, he is about 20 minutes from being on the ground in ATL. I suggested WideFS that will fix the PUSH TO TALK and the Active Sky issue as well. If that is an option.

Good to hear.
Is it just the switches on the yokes hooked up? It would be nice if the PTT switch on the ACP could be wired in too.

Sorry Kyle, but my FDS ACP' didn't came wired, maybe next year if I get around to wire them up, or replace them for a fully wired one.

Well, we are ready...... And we have a day to spare. The trick will be to leave the sim alone and not break something! lol you guys know how we sim folks just can not leave well enough alone!

...isn't there just one more thing that can be tweaked/rewired/programmed/connected/adjusted/kicked ?

Hi Ray,
yes there is always something to tweak,  we need the offset values for the FI flaps gauge, but the main unsolvable stuff is done,  ha! And your mixer! I'll leave that for you, kind of complicated with this new setup,  but I'm sure you'll figure it out.

The ATC comms seem a bit louder than the pilot comms. Can barely hear Trevor and Bob.

Otherwise, looking GREAT on Twitch!

Yes could use some tweaking but don't wana break anything. Down for maintenance. Gonna miss this one to catch up to the rest and work on a couple things.

Thanks for the update Trev, was wondering what was going on.  Looking good so far.  Thanks for leveling out the Nose view camera, I was leaning in my chair to compensate LOL

Saw some great crew interaction on the checklists and flows, looked good.  Bob gave a little talk to the public and it was very nice touch!

Keep up the good work.

Still with you on the West Coast. Looks like Fred and either Kyle or Trevor.. can't tell.

Conversations are short and to the point. You can tell it's late at night and crews are very tired.

It happens when you get tired.  Lol I am sure you will be the same. Ha ha ha.
