Is there anyone who has both P3D 2.5 and Stream FSX?
I am wanting to know the differences between the two and what stream may have as an advantage over P3D.
in addition, what improvements is there in Stream FSX over standard FSX.
thanks in advance,
Hi James I have both and there is quite a difference on the frame rates, P3D 2.5 platform I find it more stable than FSXSE plus I don't like the way it always connects to Steam on start up.
Here are two videos that to my opinion are very clear on what improvements is there on FSXSE over FSX and P3Dv2.5

But I still like the P3D v2.5 stability!
Hope this helps, Cheers!
Sam,
Thanks for your input. I watched the videos and now thinking about trying it. PD3 has been great so far for me. Plus I believe that PD3 offers multiple window support unlike FSX.
Also note that Lockheed Martin have been debugging and improving FSX since they bought the rights to it. P3D is now a much more stable platform than FSX and it's recently repackaged new version. LM is still developing P3D and a 64bit version is rumored to be in the wind. If that happens it will be a whole new ball game!! Cheers Gwyn
Agree with you Gwyn, can't go wrong with it James. Cheers!
The way I look at it....
FSX Steam Edition - Compatibility and bug fixes for modern OSes.
P3D - As above, with performance optimizations and new features.
I have run FSX-Steam without the computer even connected to the internet, so it will run that way. I will have to try P3D on my system and see how it does.
There is also an important tweak for P3D, in the config file there is a line that says Optimize_Parts=0, Change the 0 to a 1 for an instant 5FPS boost!! Cheers Gwyn
Bob, if you do get PD3, I would be interested to know what you think.
Gwyn.......that is GREAT information! Thank you. I will look into it this weekend! ;D
