Title: Observer/Jumpseat/backwall measurements
Post by: fsaviator on March 10, 2018, 05:30:53 AM
Does anyone have measurements for the area behind the seats that encompasses the circuit breaker walls, jumpseats, stowage areas, and door?  Basically schematics/drawings with measurements of the area starting just behind the pedestal back to the door.

I'd appreciate the dimensions for A, B, C, D, E, F in the attached picture

I have the markuspilot dimensions but they don't provide the details.

I used to have a link to a site with pictures someone had taken using a tape measure to show measurements but can't find the link anymore.

Not quite solved. My good, departed friend Ian Sissons site had this file but it is still missing the measurements for B and C

I inquired about that a few years ago and ended up making it my way.
Looking at the tail, both CB walls left and right are aligned (Blue line)
A right side part is recessed to accommodate  the jump seat and behind it is a space for coat hanging (C)
As for D (width of the door) I made it wider enough for removing a front seat through, if needed

Gary has your dims, pretty sure

Warren,

Juan Cordon site has a few pics. See if any of those work for you..

Hey Guys,

Like Jack says, some of us were at that stage a few years back, and where we (Karen and I) actually built the whole back end using wood, so I do have the actual measurements for the areas you need.

Give me a bit and I will find them out in the hangar. I will be printing the second set of Window Handles tonight, so instead of being mesmerized by the extruder moving back and forth for hours, I will search for the info you need.

John

Edit: added pics.

Thanks!  I've got these.  They are the same ones I pulled off of Ian's site.  The difference is he converted the measurements from inches to millimeters

Okay, I have the following:

A=88.3 cm
B=62.5 cm (from corner next to the fire extinguisher to the inside of the closed door)
C=27 cm (this is the wall thickness behind the jump seat, if that is what you needed)
D=53.3 cm
E=42 cm (the jump seat is 42 cm x 42 cm)
F=38 cm (22 cm for the coat closet and com boxes and 16 cm more up the CB panels)

Notes: For B=62.5 cm and C=27 cm, if you add the 42 cm for the jump seat you get 69 cm and that's because the front edge of the jump seat cushion extends beyond the CB panels on the Captain's side by 6.5 cm. In other words, that front edge of the cushion is 6.5 cm beyond the CB panel...

When you build your entire back area start all measurements from the inside of the closed door, but your entire design needs that extra amount for the door thickness of 4 cm. So, I had 66.5 cm from the CB panel walls to the back wall on the outside of the door, then minus the 4 cm for the door gives you B.

If you need anything else, just let me know...

Perfect John!  THanks!

Now I just need the time to get it done.
