Title: Throttle Poll
Post by: jackpilot on December 02, 2009, 03:29:08 AM
I know most of you will think that I must be out of my mind to even think of building a non 737 trottle in a 737.
This being said, what type of lever arrangement would you prefer if you were building a new jetliner.

I am really hesitant as I like them all, .....

Personally the 787 (ISH) Version.  Cause when my hand is resting on the quad..  I like to let my fingers wrap around the TQ.

And as for the second option..  Pushing the A/T Discinnect switch would be not easy and very cumbersome indeed.

On another note..  (Your Artistry is awesome) LOL

On the 757 the AT disconnect is on the outside too. On the lever arm.

I wouldn't like that I don't think, but maybe others would..

I thought of the 767 positions for a while (the real one looks much nicer than my sketch)
But technically (mean cutting alu plates) very difficult.

This is the 787
Sleeker and much easier to replicate than all others, including the 737'

Trevor, but the AT disconnect is basically in the same location as the 737 throttle, so I don't see a difference.

Jack, here's another version of the 767 Throttle:

Oh I see what you mean, what I was referring to was when I press the A/T Disconnect Sw, My fingers wrap around the throttle handle and I press the button with my thumb.  I would think with that bar in the way it would feel awkward...

Thats all I am saying, I have never been in the real think to try it, I just know it looks strange with the connecting handle being on the outside of the handle rather then on the inside..

I could be wrong though..

Although I don't have a real 767 throttle to say for sure, I did build my handles to be as close to scale as possible and I can say that the connecting bar does not get in the way of the AT disconnect switch. In my opinion it's not even a factor at all. To be honest with you I think it's the 737 throttle that looks strange with the connecting handle being on the inside.  :D
