Aerosim Solutions

Hi all, I have created this thread for updates on the Worldflight team in Perth W.A. Our callsign for this year's event is "Velocity 738" and
Our Perth crew are mostly the same crew who participated in Worldflight last year in the FDS777 sim with a couple of new faces. We have now completed about three months of Monday night training our 737NG sim which is about 85% completed, it should be ready for the event in November. Some are finding the 737 quite a challenge after learning procedures in the "automatic" 777!! Many of the crew have been hands on helping out with final stages of construction and the sim is really taking shape. The latest addition this week was the roof section with it's full functioning overhead. Well nearly fully functioning, we still have to install the Pokeys Landing and Cruise ALT displays and I'm waiting for a package from Wendy in Belgium to install them. The Prosim737 software has proved to be a joy use and seeing components of the sim spring to life has been a buzz for us all. More soon!

Thanks Sam & Trevor, we are very keen to take part after the good time we had last year. I've even managed a bit of a tweek on our Jetstream737s livery, I didn't paint the fuselage but I added the "Velocity 737" call sign!

Hi all,
Geoffrey Thomas the aviation writer for the West Australian newspaper contacted me through Facebook this week. He is bringing a film crew from Perth's channel 7 to film my 737 simulator and interview us about our Worldflight fundraising event for the Royal Flying Doctor Service in November. The piece will be aired on current affairs program "Today Tonight" towards the end of the month I imagine. I hope to capture the article and get it on Youtube when it airs over here. We will be getting some great free prime time TV publicity and I'm really stoked about the possibility of increased awareness and donations to our cause!!

All the best to you and the rest of the Worldflight crew with your fundraising!

You better Wear your good Shirt Gwyn,

No coffee (beer) stains when you get interviewed LOL.

On another note, I fixed the links to the NEW Perth (site) on our WF Page, Ken brought that to my attention and I feel like a noob.

Talk soon.

I've got my genuine Boeing hoody ready, Aerosim Solutions polo shirt for when the camera lights get too hot. Ken is bringing make up as he has TV experience already! lol Can't wait it should be a blast. I'm really stuck into the Aft overhead wiring and want to get it installed before the filming on Monday. Our Monday night training sessions are a blast too, we've certainly learned how to work the fridge. Tuesday night is bottle collection night for me!!

Glad your giving the workout to your liver, Hope all goes will with your TV Interviews, to be honest I am kind of glad we don't have to deal with that stuff ROFL.
