HI All,

Question on the following line in the MCP.ini file...

DisableAdd20Kts=Off
         /Will not add 20 Kts to speed during
         /TOGA if set to ON

Does this mean when set to OFF (in other words it WILL do it)...
Assuming we set V2 in the MCP Speed window to lets say 142kts, when we press TOGA at the start of takeoff roll, once airborne the MCP Speed window will jump 20 knots and display 162?  If so, is there a specific altitude that jump occurs?

It appears the flight director command bars also command a pitch to hold about V2+20 once airborne.  Is this built into PM as correct or is the commanded pitch controlled by this same setting also?

Thanks,
Scott

Scott, With regard to the how it works, I would say your correct.  For me, I have it =on. (DO NOTHING) But The question if it actually changes the pich (Command bars) I am thinking not, what I expect is the aircraft CDU is expecting a specific climb out speed (SET IN CLB PAGE) and the pitch is increasing to bleed off the speed to meet the target.  That was added to the TOGA.
If I was you....  I would do the same setting as I have (Turn it on (do nothing) and add the 20KIAS to the climb page target speed. and see what happens.

I will give it a whack...

My thought actually now was that the command bars are pitching to give you V2 + 15 (I suggested V2 + 20 in first post) which I believe is that little white carrot on the speed tape.  I will take a look at that and the climb page as you suggest.

Thanks,
Scott
