Title: Starting hiccups.....
Post by: FSAddon_boss on August 04, 2021, 11:22:52 PM
Just thought to write it down here for now...... my 'entry' into the cockpit building realm, after over 40 years without one...

Having had great advice here and from Trev, including the warning that things would not go smooth..... how true.

Ordered a ' basic kit' with Arduino board and materials, to learn. Waiting for the mailman.

Also dusted off my AirManager software (just bought an update in April) and set out to have a look at what I can do with it. I already started ' holing' my Baron panel....

Well, whaddayouknow...... the monitor I had planned doesn't fit. Top two engine instruments are too high. Grrrmbl.....

I do have another /(very old) 15" monitor, that would accommodate the main cluster. But then I would need something else for the stack of engine gauges. But what ?

Also, the old monitor only has a VGA plug, so had to order a VGA-to-HDMI cable for it.

All good fun, as long as SWAMBO is not peeking at my Amazon orders.....

Francois, I assume you know you can resize and move all the instrument in AirManager?

Also for more information (visual) for Mobiflight, have a look at Michael's YouTube series:
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCY6LAcEsfqeslCMi6isG6qA/videos
He has dozens of videos explaining how to use it.

Also HeliMech.

He's built a full 737 and explains how he interfaced it all with MobiFlight and ProSim737. But the videos will help you understand the methodology.
Joe.

I know, Joe, but the one monitor is not high enough, the panel is bigger. And the other isn't large enough, so I probably need a second one... or one that covers the entire area..... decisions, decisions....
