Title: Hello from England
Post by: idj4 on October 08, 2015, 05:33:05 AM
Hi All.

I'm Ian from the UK. I have played around with FS9/FSX for some years now, but have only ever been 'flying a desk' as Jetmax's slogan says. It's for this reason I stopped flying for about 3-4 yrs. I got fed up with keyboards & mice, but was never really in a position to go down the 'building' road. Gladly things have changed and I just ordered the SST setup from Opencockpits. I hope this turns out to be a good choice. I'm now waiting for delivery & of course setting it up.. I'm more excited than a 5 year old on Christmas eve.  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D.

All the best everyone.. Cheers.

Hi Ian,

Great to hear, we all know what that feeling is like.  Sometimes I wonder if we aren't kids still.  (Actually according to my wife I may still be a child) But I am ok with that :)

Nice to have you here.

My wife is of the same mindset. I was flying online last night having a lengthy conversation with SoCal Approach when my wife tapped me on the shoulder...

Wife: "Who are you talking to?"

Me: (Pointing to my headset mic) "Socal Approach... ATC..."

Wife: "For real?"

Me: (Long pause)  "....yes"

She just shook her head and went off to bed.

LOL guys.  My wife knows I'm a big kid and it's not coz she made her own mind about it. It's coz I told her I was when we met... and she still married me. Growing up is boring anyway :)
