Title: Hello from the UK

Hi,

I am new to the forum and am looking to get involved with the exciting hobby of cockpit building. I am 32 and have been a fan of flying for many years now, having taken lessons in a Piper Tomahawk when I was younger.

Unfortunately driving lessons, uni, gap year, house, wedding and now a baby have drained most of my funds to continue with my flying lessons and therefore have been put on hold for a few years.

As a lover of Microsoft Flight Simulator since 95, I thought why not build a cockpit, combining gaming, IT and hobby craft in one, so here I am. I am new to cockpit building but am looking to really get involved with it.

I am starting small and am planning to take my time as the house I am in at the moment hasn't got enough space for a full blown Boeing 737-800 cockpit (which is what I want to build).

Currently I have:

Dell Precision T1650
Flight Simulator X
PMDG 737 NGX
Saitek Yoke/Throttle
Saitek Switch Panel

Hoping to get for Xmas:

- GSX Ground Services
- Boeing 737 Throttle knobs
- A decent graphics card that won't break the bank
- Saitek Multi Panel

Full aim is to build out the full cockpit, with the Boeing 737 MIP probably being my next purchase, but would be interested to see how everyone else started off as I am keen not to waste too much money on stuff I will throw away in 12 months.

Good to meet everyone, looking forward to speaking to you all.

Thanks
Sam
