Title: Newb in Baltimore, MD

So I used to fly hours and hours of MS Flight Sim back in the late 90's and early 2000's and decided to take a look at X-Plane last year. Totally got into it and spent about 2 months last fall building a proof-of-concept to convince myself I could make a decent cockpit, then took off and running with what you see here in February.

It's an X-Plane GA pit, built around the Carenado King Air B200. I'm not going for 100% accuracy, so I know the annunciators, radios, etc aren't correct - I'm just going for immersion.

PFC Yoke, Go Flight throttles and rudder pedals, Fly Elite radio stack (soon to be replaced with Flight Illusion NAVs/COMS/etc and my own GNS 530 that Im working on) and a couple of Saitek FIPs to fill in the gaps (very functional once you figure out how to make your own gauges and interfaces). Everything else you see is custom built. I bought one of those cheap Chinese CNC machines and it is my workhorse - all the panels, engraving and instrument bezels have been made with it. Everything is programmed on 4 Teensy boards with another 4 planned to handle the new bits (GNS, autopilot, lower annunciator, etc). Instruments are done using a second computer with a custom 2D panel built in X-Plane and run as an "external view" over the network.

I suspect this is going to keep me busy for a while but I'm glad to be here...

You've done a superb job.
