...and thanks for having me. My name is Mike and I live in Winnipeg, MB. Canada. I'm 35 going on 18 ( as I'm sure many of you better halves can attest to). I have been reborn as a Sim pilot with FSX, having not used a flight Sim program since FS '98. I have been improving my FSX experience over the last 2 years with standard add-ons such as a yoke, rudder pedals, and a recycled flight stick which has been transformed into a compliment of switches, trim wheel, spoiler handle, and view panning.  But I want more!!!!

I have been reading and researching for the last few months, and I have decided to get this thing started. My Sim pit will be modelled after a kingair 300 flight deck, to be used for 99% twin turboprop flying. Manufacturing does not scare me, but the electrical/programming aspects do. This is where I hope that this community will be most useful. I look forward to picking some of the obviously well versed brains that reside in this group.

Again, thanks for having me.

Hi there and welcome!

One of our good friends has an excellent KingAir simulator. He's a member here I think, and here's his web address: http://ska200.mywebcommunity.org/turboprop.htm.

He's a very helpful builder and he and my father have done quite a bit of work together (we've helped him with the KingAir and he helps us on the ATR). Very nice guy. Any questions you have let us know.

Looking forward to seeing your sim progress ...

Dean.

Hi Mike,

Welcome aboard.
King is a very good choice.
Flying a turbo prop is sometimes more demanding than flying a jet.
It is a complex aircraft and a very nice cockpit.
I suppose you know this product...worth considering!

Hi Mike and welcome. And as has been said, you will be sorry your life is over as you have known it. With the group we have here you should be able to find help with just about anything. Some stuff not even sim related! LOL  ;D

Mike, I can;t tell you enough how easy the electrical aspects of this project will be.  Don't sweat the small stuff we are all here to help.

Best regards,

Trev

Thanks for the warm greetings. I think this forum is exactly what you want it to be Trevor, because I already know that I want to be here.

Thank you gents for the links and reminders about the questioned sanity of hobbyists in this small community. I will assume by the way my wife rolls her eyes at me when I go on about my new simulator, that she is already in full support of the idea. You should have seen the look I got when I told her that there would be 2 seats so she could ride along on my long flights!!   ;D

I look forward to sharing my creation.

Thanks Bud, that is actually the way we all want it to be, so I am glad it makes you feel welcome, and want to be here.

Sounds like your missus is right into it with you..  Good for you. I look forward to seeing more of you here.
