Anyone else have the issue at KSEA of the RegEx building and trucks floating in the air? Why do I get the feeling I am missing something?

737SimGuy

I don't get that problem here. One thing you can try, there is a setting to 'flatten' the runways like MSFS. Don't recall exactly where it is, I think in Settings, Renderings. Some sceneries don't play nice.

Well James, the buildings and trucks are "floating" in the air, not touching the ground. This is the "demo" scenery that is installed with XP 10 and I have made no changes to it the install.

737SimGuy

No idea why it is doing that. Doesn't happen here with KSEA. Driver issue????

I am starting to wonder. I have a couple other things going on (the jiggys) I am using the newest Nvidia driver maybe I should step back one and see if that helps.

Have you checked the x-plane forums? Maybe someone else has it too...

Bob, do you get the jiggys just as you start to move or on first load? Then when you move or 5 secs later they disappear?
One wheel landings, tail scrapes... just doing my best!!

Well... They are there when I start up and while I am sitting on the ground. Once I start to move I don't pay a lot of attention will have to more. Have any ideas?

rhysb

Yep, that's an xplane bug, happens to me with certain aircraft and also have seen it on another pc as well. One running a nvidia card one ati so it's not your drivers. I believe this will be fixed in 10.10

The KSEA scenery seems a mystery though. Have you installed anything else in that area?

Well I will leave that be for now. And no, there is nothing else installed in that area, just what X-Plane install put there.

Bob Reed

Ok I have done some digging on the X-Plane forums for my issue and so far I have not found it duplicated. I have done some of the recommendations such as, removed all scenery and re installed. Man that takes a while. But as you can see by the screen shots it is still there. I can not believe that I am the only one having this problem. See Maurice, there are problems! lol!  :idiot:

Interesting Bob.  I have not seen that issue but if you tell me where that was and give me a screen shot of your rendering options I can see if i have the same issue.

Scott

Bob Reed

Ok I should be able to do that as I can reproduce it. Back into the software.

Bob Reed

Ok Scott here it is. Sitting on 16L KSEA. Look left and you should see the RegEx trucks and buildings. These are the ones floating on my system. Here is the screen shot of my rendering settings.

ok, i will take a look tonight when I get home

Hey Bob,

Just curious, did you uninstall the demo XP10 program first, as well as do the video card driver updates prior to installing XP10. Also, did you use the download installer update that replaced the installer on the disks?

Seeing floating buildings and vehicles all points to the same as what FSX was known for, and that is AFCAD files. So, your XP10 files regarding that scenery of KSEA have been corrupted in the area as to where the flat plane for them to sit upon needs to be changed (like in AFCAD). If you did not remove the demo first, that could be the problem. If anything, go into X-plane Scenery editor and fix this error.

Well John all things I will have to look at. I don't think I installed the demo on the system (drive and os) that I am using for the full program but I will double check. There is no other scenery installed but what the installer put there and no I DID use the installer on the disks as no where (until after I installed it) did it say not to. I suppose I can un-install it and start over another hour and something just sitting and watching grass grow.... lol
