Title: AirManager Mysteries
Post by: FSAddon_boss on August 27, 2021, 07:57:10 AM
I bought AirManager a year ago, updated to Version 4 recently, and installed it together with my brand spanking new MSFS2020....

Put together a Baron 58 panel (changed from the one readily provided) and linked it to NSFS. Worked fine.

Then added some other aircraft. Gauges moved on some, not on others. Added X-Plane 11.55 and the Baron 58 works just great too.

Cloned another panel as 'Generic Twin' and one as 'Generic Single'..... worked for a while on some of the aircraft in MSFS...

And then one day it all stopped. And I haven't got a clue what I touched..... it says it is connected to MSFS or X-Plane, but MFSF aircraft don't power the AirManager gauges anymore.

It is probably something annoyingly simple that I am missing...... but what !?

Possibly Microsoft installed some patches/updates, reset all of your network configs, turned the firewall back on or somehow is blocking traffic/apps so your panel no longer gets any data?

Maybe, Ray, but the strange thing is that ' sometimes' I seem to have contact, but only briefly. Whereas with X-Plane it continues to work.

Hmmmmm.... no luck yet.
When I start AirManager it says Connected to FS2020 at the bottom right, even though FS2020 is not even running yet.

I changed it to manual connect, with IP address, same thing.
Then changed it to X-Plane...... it says searching simulator.
When I then start X-Plane everything works fine (except that my Saitek multipanel is not active).

When I quit X-Plane and keep AirManager running, it changes back to ' connected to MSFS2020'. Cannot get rid of that.

Actually starting MSFS2020 does not make a difference. The panel is not connecting.

Restarted everything, including the MSFS2020Bridge several times, in various orders....... no game...

The folks at Air Manager have been very responsive to me over the years when I had questions.  I would reach out to them.

Talked with Ralph already in the meantime, and he had some suggestions. But still no joy :(

Have you tried a system restore point yet? Go back a day/week before the issues started and see if it works.

If it works, then go through the list of all restore points from the point before it started and see what was done to your computer, and this might help you figure it out what's causing the problem.

Your computer usually does system restore points automatically for windows updates and such, and you'll see those in a list. As for anything you installed, there might not be a restore point; however, just go with the ones you see in the list. You can bounce between them too help solve the problem....

That's my ultimate option I guess. Thought to clear out my Community Folder first and see if that helps..... that should at least clear all add-ons if it doesn't....
