Geat day at the annual Colorado Springs Airshow today.  This year it was in honor of those that have served.

This year we (Pikes Peak Fliers LLC) also brought out our Piper Cherokee 235, N9487W.  There's a couple of shots of her in the slideshow.  I'm the guy on the far left of the group shots with my youngest daughter.

A lot of nice planes out here.  I'm a little disappointed that there were so many Navy birds...  Colo Spgs is an Air Force and Army town (with the exception of the "Rocky Mountain Navy" at Peterson AFB).  Still, can't beat a Grumman EA-6, some SH-60 Seahawks, and an E2 Hawkeye parked in the distance.

Did get to show my kids one of the C130's I jump out of on a routine basis, from the Colorado National Guard.  The plane is one of several they use for fighting fires, and they also routinely drop us as part of their (and our) sustainment training.

The C-17 as always, impressive.  They had the C-17 Demo team flying today...  they put her down and stopped in less distance than I can stop 87W.

Also had two F4 Phantoms from Holloman that also took part in the Heritage Flight with an A-10.

The star of the show (as far as I'm concerned) was a Delta 737 that took the loooonnnngg taxi and cruised by the airshow parking ramp after all teh activities were over.  The passengers got a good show.

Incidently, the Air Force/Navy game was also going on so we had a couple of the Air Force VIP transports here from Washington DC.  The funny thing is, one left 10 minutes before the game ended, while the other left 40 minutes after....  Navy brass heading home early, Air Force brass hanging out to enjoy the win?  Just kidding....  I'm Army, but...  Air Force is the home team.

Enjoy the slide show.  If the 737 is coming up after two or three shots, reverse the slideshow order.

Hey Warren, shouldn't it be snowing in Colorado yet?  ;D.  Must have been a very nice day out there and I love the Christen Eagle which at one time was my very favorite airplane before I switched to Boeing  :D

Well, we have been having some good weather lately.  Actually expect it to start going south in the next couple of weeks though.  Blowing out the sprinklers tomorrow and servicing the snow blower.

Your welcome.  It was great to see her flying.  I'd forgotten how loud those J79 engines were.  Still an impressive warbird though.

I apologize for some of the blurry shots...  I wasn't using a high speed camera for these.  It ewas hard enough finding them in the viewfinder.
