g'day captains......
I have been building a Non-Motorised TQ for Eren at Revolution Simproducts as an Experiment.  That was to see how easy it would be for 'the man in the street' to build.
The plan is that Revolution Simproducts will make the Non-Motorised TQ available as a kit for self assembly in an attempt to keep costs down and in an attempt to widen the market for Throttle Quadrants.
So, they asked me to video/photograph the build process so that a 'build video' could be made to help customers build their own Throttle Quadrant.   Part 2 is finished and i'm now working on Part 1.
The beauty of this TQ design is that the Non-Motorised TQ can now be upgraded to motorised at some time in the future by fitting the motorised kit as a retro fit.
hoping to have it all done for the Lelystad Show.

Aerosim Solutions

Hi all,

I can testify to the quality of this unit having seen it first hand, it is fantastic. Revolution have certainly improved their product from the initial prototypes which were regarded by many as flimsy. These units are superb, it feels solid and is quite weighty like my own TQs. I flew the motorised version in Ian's awesome simulator and it would be at home in any other pro sim. I won't be producing B737TQs at Aerosim Solutions, there is no point in providing what is already out there at a good price!
Looking forward to the video presentation Ian and thanks again for a wonderful visit to your home! Back to Oz tomorrow :-(

Cheers, Gwyn

Boeing Skunk Works

I'd like to see that video too. Maybe one of these days someone at Revolution will decide to stick a third throttle lever on one of these beasties.

Ian once you build up the kid, what are the chances of adding the servos and motors on a later stage?
As far as you know, the plan is to include lighting with the kit??
Thank you.
I will be ordering one soon

sorry roberto, i was away on holiday and missed this post.
the TQ kit will NOT include the backlighting components, but they are
cheap enough to add as you go.   this is what i used on the TQ i built.

they can be cut to size every two LED's so one strip did the trick and 12vdc into the bargain so getting a power source is easy.
second question.... the new design is modular, so you will be able to purchase a motor/control set and 'retro-fit' at a later stage when your budget allows.
right, because of the timescale for Lelystad, i've assembled 'drafts' of the build video's because we want to use them at the show (i'll polish them up when i have more time).
two parts... part 1 is the mechanical build and part 2 is fitting the covers.

part 2   http://www.737ng.co.uk/revolution/tq_video_covers_part2.wmv

go on, build it yourself and save a few bucks (you can spend it on beer)

have a great day chaps......

regards from wales ...
