Have to say I agree with you Bob, I think my car seats look better.  :) And a damn site cheaper.

I would really like to know where these contraptions are from.
A footrest !! straight J rails !! no yoke cutout ??
Has to be a very very personnal 74!

???

Garys

These seats are out of that mobile 747 cockpit mockup that was being sold on ebay for the past year at over $5k.  Don't know what these seats are from  but they definitely are not a crew seat and 100% not from a 747.

Gary is correct they are out of the 747 mockpit and most certainly NOT 747  seats

I believe that is actually an aft crew chair out of a Lockhead P-3 Orion that has had some new custom cushions and a paint job.  They were originally orange and you can see that in the headrest where the paint is coming off.   When I was in we also had what we called VIP chairs that we wold install whenever a dignitary such as an admiral was going to be flying with us.   Often these had blue cushions or at least a set of blue covers to denote them as being for a VIP.  This chair pictured looks like it could be one of those that a parachute rigger (also responsible for chairs and upholstery) might have rigged with a custom footrest.

Interesting item but 747...I think not :-).
