USB speakers

USB headsets are seen by the PC as a specific sound card
Is it the same with a pair of USB speakers.
If yes ATC sounds  could be diverted to those speakers without an extra sound card

I have checked also USB sound cards (stick) as an alternative if they can drive a speaker.

Depending on your Amp, you may need a Channel mixer between the Two outputs from the computers and the Amp. But I will let a far more qualified person confirm.

In that case I'm pretty sure you would need a audio mixer to amalgamate the inputs to a single output via a single speaker set.

There are a few on Amazon etc.

If you use a "LINE OUT" and a "LINE IN" You won't have any issues mixing sound channels from 2 separate computers.  If you use headphone out and MIC in, you may have some noise issues..

If I were you, I would have put a y splitter on the line out - 1 to surround and 1 to the line in on the avionics machine. Although what you are doing will work and as long as you click the checkbox "listen to this device" in the recording devices on the avionics you will get FS sounds in the avionics machine. Only issue is you also need to have your headset microphone go into the avionics machine and the speaker out goto your headset.

I ordered also this small Gizmo (10$) 
Could be even simpler as the sound quality does not have to be top.
