All four formats are in use by airlines around the world.

Rob's AAL316 team will be using the AAL format.

Doug.

I would like it if we could keep the same format as last year. Only thing is we need to remember not to print everything. There is a lot of stuff in there we don't use, and I don't like printing waste for no reason lol.

Hi to all :

Which program do  you guys  use for the flight plan.
To me it looks like the real thing since, perhaps it is ?. I have no airline experience but I am familiar with the procedures in general.
It is my understanding that each airline follows their own protocol.

Some of the abbreviations I can recognize, others not so much.

I have been using PFPX, which is quite good, but no whether maps in color and usually no Tropopause information.:). These ones do. Excellent.

I will try to decipher the acronyms.

Thanks for the info.

Joaquin.

The author of PFPX has written a real-world version of it. It has much more functionality than PFPX, supports point of no return calculations, a lot more ability to customize the outputs, better optimization, supports cost index climbs and descents, filing the flight plan directly with ATC, Eurocontrol, AFTN and SITA message addressing, PRAIM calculations as it directly interfaces with the system that almost every other flight planning system worldwide uses. You name it. It's ETOPS functionality has been approved for use by the Australian FAA as an Aussie operator is conducting side-by-side testing to adopt it as their flight planning system.

I've been a tech advisor for a while.

Trev - In the crew briefing portal you can select what you want to print.
