Question regarding BFF's Motion Hardware/Software, and their Shaker Hardware/Software...

Has anyone implemented any of these products into their Sim?  If so, what were the results?

The Shaker solution provided by Ian is interesting, as it seems like it would be a good addition to the typical audio shakers most of us use.  The problem with "shaking" a full-scale 737 flight deck is that most of these systems would not take well to the constant vibration, eg. LCD monitors, etc.  It seems that any such shaker device would have to be isolated to the Seats.  Comments on this?

Mike,
Take a look here, Roland has built one for his sim.

Thanks for the link Les.  I'm going to give Ian's Shaker system a try.

Mike,
Ive built his mini motion platform and his Force Feedback Yoke. They are excellent and his
support is second to none. Be good to hear how it goes.

Hello Les,

That's encouraging that you have had  good experience building Ian's projects.

Regarding the BFF SHKR-1 Shaker Card...

1. Which USB cable approach did you use - the PICAXE ACE027 download cable with a separate +5V power supply, or, the Trionix TRX1400 FTDI chipset USB cable?

2.  What did you use for the DC motor, and how is it holding up to the vibrations?

3.  Are you using the PWM output to also drive a audio shaker device?

4.  Do you think that the "Heavy Jet" configuration profiles are suitable for using this on a 737 sim running FSX?

Thanks in advance for any feedback on this system.

Hi Mike,
Sorry for the delay, I haven't used his shaker so can't comment.
His other projects I have used the picaxe inter face.
That site I gave u, email Roland but also do the same to Ian. He is very
obliging.
