has anyone here ever played this little flying adventure game, or it's sequel? I played it back in 2000? It was a fun little adventure game, based around a pilot whose adventures had him dogfighting and stunt flying around these great interactive environments.

The "era" and setting were strikingly similar to "Sky Captain, and the World of Tommorrow" movie.
It is kind of fun to pass the time with. The planes were fantastic and the weapons imaginative.
LOL Ak, I personally never flew it, but I sure as heck had seen it in the stores.. Fantastic memories..

Yep, I loved that game. More of an arcade than simulation, but at the same time, more of a simulation than an arcade game (if that makes any sense). I like the simplicity of it ..... you just fire it up and away you go ..... and yet the missions were challenging and really required good flying skills. I still have it and it's been a while since I played it but now I think I'll load it up and have a go at it again. ;D

Henry
Yes, have quite a few hours logged in Crimson Skies. Was a fun game as I recall.
Never heard of it. But I was never into video games either. I think I played Pac-Man once in the '80's at an arcade and Space Invaders once at the same place.
Never owed a video game or a console or player of any sort. Is that weird?
Weird??? No I don't think so, but consider this is coming from a guy or a bunch of guys who have Airplanes in their basements! LOL :idiot:

Worse then airplanes... Chunks of airolanes......
hi guys.......
i'd seen this 'game' as well, but never really 'had a go'.
and refering to mike's comments about playing with things in the 80's, i was more interested in girlies ;D
but, it's ok, i managed to find a hobby that costs me just as much, but doesn't answer back ;D
have a good one chaps.... ian
Hi Guys,
I did the review of Crimson Skies back in God knows when and as I recall it was more arcade than real simulation. But as someone said it was just a simple flight model designed to jump in and have a blast.
Now if you really want to see what can be done in this format, have a look at the latest WW1 Sim called Rise of Flight. It has spectacular graphics, realistic flight modelling and you can shoot people....
;)
Cheers
Joe.
You can shoot people... I love the sound of it already :) Dude.. you got it all wrong though... :idiot: Wheels down, not up!
