I've decided to interface my starter switches finally. I'll run them on the same 28V my stick shakers run off of.
Anyone know how to interface the 5pin cole starter switches (P/N 6222-2266).
When I pin them out with a multimeter:
A1-B1 - GRD
A2-B2 - CONT
A3-B3 - FLT
A4-B4 - FLT
A5-B5 - GRD, CONT
X1-X2 - jumpered by what appears to be a diode
I assume I run the 28V to X1/X2 by way of a Relay and connect the relay to an output. Hook up A1;A2;A3 to the GRD;CONT;FLT inputs (B1;B2;B3 to ground)? The switch is constant off unless in FLT, GRD, or CONT.
THoughts?
Hi there,
You might want to check out my build topic where I explain something about these switches,

If you're having any questions please feel free to contact me!
Just make sure you place your positive end to X1 and leave the "flyback diode" in place for your circuit protection.

Jeff
Thanks for the reply, Jeff.
I took a look at your link and it appears you've solved my problem. Nice FB site too.
What software are you using for the 737?
I'd appreciate some help. I'm not against using arduino to hook these up. Can you provide a bit more detail on how you did that? I'm using Prosim737 v2.
I'm using Prosim as well, and yes I'm able to help you on how to make use of the Arduino.
I'll send you more information soon when I'm back home tomorrow :)
Sounds great! Thanks!
Warren the X1 X2 is your solenoid. Make sure you put the positive side of your 28V to the white line on the diode otherwise you will short out your 28V power supply. When you have 28v on the x1 X2 the switch will hold its position.

Hi Warren,
I have a modified arduino sketch with some annotations to clarify (hopefully) one and another.
Connecting the switches is straight forward as you already found which micro switch had what function.
If you have any questions please ask and i'll try to help :)

Jeff
Oh and keep in mind, i'm no programmer or any thing like that.
My sketches are only made so to be functional for my purposes only :P
Thanks Jeff!
I won't lie.. this looks daunting as I haven't delved into arduino yet. On my list to get into and I have everything I need including several different arduinos on hand.
I've set the task to get the sim put back together so I'm shelving this project until that is done.
thanks for the info and I'll keep everyone informed on this.
Cheers!
Hey guys. I have a cole switch and I'm using 24v 3amp power supply. Positive to X1.
Doesn't seem to work. How many amps ps are you guys using?
Thanks
Just in case...
works with a regular PSU and relay card
