Title: G73AT Grumman Turbine Mallard procedural sim
Post by: Drewsta on May 13, 2020, 04:20:55 AM
Hi all, I have a Mallard sim underway and is coming along nicely. I have a query about securing levers made from MDF onto a bolt. I worked out that I hadn't secured the levers with nuts on both side of the lever itself to make sure it was secured to the bolt and so it was slipping. Now the lever itself is secure but the nuts are coming loose with a few movements of the levers. Will nylon lock nuts stop this from happening or more drastic measures are needed you think?

Yes a Nylon lock nut would stop it from backing off. Also would recommend putting nylon washers between the moving surfaces to reduce friction at those points and reduce the bolt rotating.

Thanks Kyle, I'll try that shortly.
