Gents,

I just had an amazing experience and I have to share it with you all. (Pictures to follow later) I just got back from spending the evening with Maurice flying his sim. First off, I would like to personally thank Maurice for having me over to experience this, and I really hope the Mrs. didn't mind th engine noises. (Lol) it was an honor to be a guest in your home. (I  could have stayed all night)

Next I have to say that jackpilot was 100% right. Simming with a setup like that which Maurice has is a real treat! The visuals are STUNNING and the pictures Maurice  took just don't do it justice, My peripheral vision picked up on the side views well, and that gave an even bigger feeling of motion. This caused a  feeling of vertigo, that I had never experienced in any simulator ever before. (Especially after the climb out leveling off). The flight controls were so realistic and I just can't believe the quality of Mau's workmanship, and that of the FDS equipment.  Congrats buddy, you have done an amazing job so far.
You have all the reasons to be proud.  (Even if the pixels are blury) lol

I also have a confession to make.  I really need to brush up on my speed holding and altitude holding, not to mention my procedures. (Thanks Mau) :) but I am glad jack and his polished flight skills were absent this visit, otherwise I may have been very embarrassed.

Thank you again for the amazing Night.  Won't be able to top that for a very very long time.

Do not worry...the first night was a bit of a roller coaster too, it takes time to get used to the flight model first, the controls next, and the effect of the visual also.
The next morning things were much cooler!
Actually the 73 is pretty docile as long as you use as little power as needed and make only small adjustments. And with such a visual the temptation to stare outside and forget the instruments is a huge factor.
Glad you had a blast, too bad we missed flying all three together!! :D

I couldn't agree more. Getting use to the aircraft was tricky, but by the time I reached the last flight I was very comfy with it. But like you said, the outside visuals were indeed a neat distraction.  I was also not use to the ISIS my 73 had all 3 standby's and I actually kept looking for them lol.

It would have been nice to get all together, and perhaps we can one day.

It was a lot of fun for sure, and I can't wait for more.

Yes, it would be very nice and unless my house is invaded by in-laws, I'm pretty much free anytime (I love saying that  :). But since you both live almost at different ends of Ontario, I'll leave the logistics of all getting together to the 2 of you. That will likely be quite difficult to synchronize but not impossible since you both have occasional reasons to venture this way. Just share your calendars and maybe that can happen.

Of course, that will really be an impossible task, just like building a full size Boeing simulator or converting a retired Beech 99. Only crazy people do that after all  ::)  :)

I know, whatever those kind of people are, I am better off staying away from them.  I would be ashamed to admit that if I were one of them!  LOL

We will figure it out :)
