I was looking at an article on winglets earlier today and really wondered what the hell they were for. I thought they were just cosmetic tbh.

Then I came across this...

http://www.b737.org.uk/winglets.htm

Question is... do you 737 sim drivers have winglets on their sims and what is the difference in flight characteristics? Kind of intrigued about this tech. Hell, after looking at the Dreamliner in flight with the whole wing flexing like a birds wing really shows how far aeroplane tech has come. I think the old planes look ugly in comparison  to the planes with winglets and the Dreamliner's swoop.

The problem with winglets on a Sim is to interface them properly...

I have the Engravity ones but still waiting to get the wings installed before interfacing.  :idiot:

LOL u plonkers...

What I meant was they change the performance of the plane...

Look at the range changes for instance and the problems with pitch they cause.

QuoteThere is a small difference in rotation rate for aircraft with winglets installed and, as a result, the crew needs to be cautious of pitch rate.

That's what I meant when I asked if you simulate this.
