New Idea for FS Software/Harware Updates?

Okay, so sitting here thinking about updates for all the Add-On software for our FSX setup and I've come to the conclusion that not many Add-On companies have an autoupdate feature that alerts you of any new updates. Either you go to their website and check or you just don't know. Thus, wouldn't it be nice that a program be written that would go check for you and the Add-On companies would join it and thereby, telling you of the latest available updates?

Like Apple or Windows does with it's OS and programs, it would be nice to see a program of this style to be running for the FS community. How many add-ons do you have and how many do you have to chase down everytime you want to update them.

Therefore, I'd like to suggest someone invent this. A software writer/programmer or at least an add-on company. In any case, just getting the idea out there is the first step, so I ask that everyone start discussing this and maybe, we'd see it happen. Please share this idea on other sites...

Just in case it sounds like I am meaning only the software side; I also invite the hardware side of the house to join in with this idea. I would love to see a compiled list of all software and harware programs for FS, and then see the latest update versions that are available. It would have to be automatic though and that is where the companies would have to join in with a piece of code somehow...
