I was on Facebook yesterday, and a flight advert caught my eye. It was a sim that I had seen before, attached to an advertisement for a flight simulator. Lo and behold, when I clicked it, it was the Virtual Pilot 3D guys yet again trying to scam people into paying money for a free flight simulator (Flight Gear - www.flightgear.org).

For those who didn't see my last post, the following image, from the Virtual Pilot 3D website is stolen from NASA. Coincidentally, that cockpit uses ProMFD, which I can guarantee you is running on FS9/FSX. A few of the screenshots on their site appear to be photos from airliners.net. So even their screenshots are stolen/misleading.

To Gene, and the rest of the Flight Gear team, I hate to see these bastards taking advantage of the countless hours you all have invested. I added a permanent warning post on my Flickr page (which tends to have really high SEO), so hopefully that will deter some buyers. I will post warnings about this group every opportunity I get.

A REALLY sad thread, full of people who bought the software before realizing they had been scammed:

You bet!  I'd like nothing better than a grid coordinate for those guys.  I wouldn't drop a bomb on them or anything like that...  I'd just stop by for a drink with some friends and let things develop ;)

Phil, thanks a bunch for reposting! Best thing we can do is post in as MANY places as possible, so more posts show up in Google. I get SO mad reading through all the posts that say, "The software wouldn't even load, then when asking for a refund, they never replied even though they claim to have a 60 day money back guarantee." Or... "The software was only supposed to be $60, then after buying, they said I had to pay $135 for the VIP version to get all that was promised."

I'm with you guys, they'll get theirs... I just hate to see them rip off so many people on the way down. It's only a matter of time before they rip off the wrong person.

Thanks for getting the word out guys!  It's hugely appreciated!
