The ultimate computer setup for a flight simulator using P3d and Orbx software

I just bought FTX Global and am really enjoying the scenery. There are some limitations based on my computer CPU and my video card. I have the intel i7 920 with a nvidia gtx 285 or 295 video card with 6 gigs of ram. So my question is what is the best CPU and best video card available today to use with P3d and orbx? It may be too early to upgrade now considered the soon to be released (hopefully) version 2.0 of P3d. Does as anyone have any thoughts about this? I would love to hear them.

I would suggest that you have a look at this site, as I regard this chap as the best adviser as to setting up a computer that you can get. You will also see a complete set of recommendations for hardware etc. on the site.

Brian, Thank you for the reply. What a goldmine of information. Just have one question. Does all this information which is based on using FSX apply to prepar3d as well?

Yes for pc specs, windows setup and Nvidia Inspector. A lot of those  FSX.cfg tweaks though aren't required for P3D.
