Does CP EL MCP combo need a external power supply to the wall?  Does Prosim need a driver or just plug in the USB cable?

Yes Lance, it does need the power supply to the wall.  It works with Prosim fine without need for additional drivers.   Pretty much plug n play.  You just run the mcp program within prosim and in its config screen you check a box for cp flight and tell it which com port it is on.   Prosim does the rest.  Note that it is also plug n play with sim-avionics.  Great gear...

You can run the unit without power as well (this is the way I have it).

You need the power if you are going to run additional units, such as the CP Flight Radio's off the MCP.

You can also run the pedestal as a stand alone unit now, too, so no need to daisy chain from your MCP.

The USB Flood and Door panel contains the "Master" control unit to run the entire pedestal bay.

I've just bought a complete bay from CP Flight featuring this gear, it is top of the wazza, mate.

Great gear!
