Hello Everyone!! Similar surveys have been done before (many times) but I wanted to see what the actual numbers were in mid-2015. Reason, I believe software designers are under the impression that almost no-one is using FS9 nowadays - hence they have stopped making FS9 add-ons. It all comes down to money of course, so maybe we could show them that FS9 is still alive and well?
Question= WHICH SIM ARE YOU USING THE MOST - FS9/FSX/P3D/XPLANE?

(no comments necessary - but welcome)
Thank you kindly. Mark.

Better question might read: What simulator version are folks here using that have multiple visual displays in there cockpit? And remember, Triplehead2go  only counts as one visual display as it stretches across three.

I'd venture to say the users of FSX, X-Plane, & P3D will be very minimal if any. Most folks, correct me if I'm wrong, that are using the three mentioned platforms, are doing so using projectors and Triplehead2go.

Not wishing to hijack this thread, but perhaps I can give an insight into the opinion of the producers of FS products.

In the course of writing for PC Pilot, I speak to a number of developers who all say that the sales of FS9 products are roughly 10% of total add-on sales. So there is a strong possibility that the development of FS9 products will be phased out over the next couple of years.
Of course the smaller developers may see this as an opportunity to create a niche market, but the long term outlook for continued support in the way of new products for FS9 is not that good.

Looking on the brighter side, if the development of FSX Steam Edition continues we may yet see a version of FSX that would suit us all.

Trev if you want to move this to a separate thread, please do so.  ;)

Joe.

Joe,

Have to agree with. In fact there has been a notable decline in companies continueing FS9 related products.
