Not sure if I should put this discussion here or in the Aircraft Dimensions section but I thought I'd start here.

I am in the process of building a cockpit for a flight simulator and I am wanting the seating position to represent the ergonomics of a glider.  I have been searching all over to find suitable dimensions from which to base by build but so far the best I've been able to find is this low resolution image off a seemingly defunct russian site:

http://easyultralightdesign.stroimsamolet.ru/design/cockpit_sizing.php

If anyone knows of where I can find better dimensions from which to model my design I'd be most grateful.

Thanks,
Slarti.

Hehe, you're on here as well :).

Yeah, just made an account.
I'm asking all over.
Not getting much luck though ):

The sketch above looks good enough and precise to me..
Not many glider cockpits around  for a fact

Cheers

It's okay, and it is what I've been using:

But obviously though if there were something better I'd prefer to use it.

I actually thought there would be more around than there is.  People do build gliders as kit projects don't they?  I would have thought there would be a cockpit schematic around from the 70's or something I could use, but I guess not.  The only other image I've been able to find is this one discussing restraint requirements from a Canadian 'Advisory Circular'.

Neither of these images identify what kind of glider they are and while they definitely look 'glider-esk' there actually not that great to work with.

Not that i have any input on your topic, but congrats on the coastlines, especially the Fjords of Norway.

Well after a little more searching I happened across another russian avaition discussion which contained this little beauty:

Hehe, why thank you.
I'm quite fond of the little crinkly bits myself ;)

Hi just had a quick look online,

I wonder if this is of use.

I used to by an SZD-51 and Grob Astir  about 20 years ago.

I would also look at the pictures of the Antares 20E on the Lange Aviation website. http://www.lange-aviation.com/
It would be quite easy to scale the drawings and measure off them .
This is probably the approach I would take.
(Actually , I think this is where your picture above has originally come from )
