My son Collin has been working on his model airport.
Maybe this could be better than Lego's John!
Unless you've been there, done that.  :D

Hi Craig,

I am in total awe and envy of your son Collin! His work in those 3 pictures alone makes me wish that I was doing that. I've only seen a few of these planes up close, but too see them with such detail, along with the airport, tarmac/ramp area, runway, support vehicles and so on would be a real joy.

And, I do agree that what he is doing is way beyond Legos...plus, since I am downsizing, I am thinking why not downsize even further to that level. Would you please ask Collin to post or if you would, how he got started and where can I purchase these items; additionally, what is the scale size?

Can you also tell me if he is providing action/movement or using motion control via electronics or other magnetic sources? By chance is he into stop motion animation, if not he should be, with his attention to details I would love too see some animated videos made by him. Should he be interested, tell him to checkout Dragon Frame stop motion animation software, as it is the best program available, and is used for Hollywood level movies; such as, Box Trolls, Coraline, ParaNorman, Kubo and the Two Strings, along with a new, yet Untitled movie coming in May 2018 (all by Laika Studios here: http://www.laika.com ).

By the way, how old is he? Young or old, you should be very proud of him  :idiot:

John,
Very kind words regarding Collin.
He is 17 years old. He started with a piece of my scrap PVC SHEET and painted the whole thing himself, added grass etc.. and yes, I am very proud of him!!
the aircraft are 1/400 scale Gemini Jets and he has been collecting them for about 2-3 yrs.
in fact he has done some stop motion animation and has an instagram following of over 1600 for his airport (@fly_fll) I will get some more info from him to share.
Stand by.....
