Title: Microburst event at the US Air Force Academy
Post by: fsaviator on June 27, 2014, 10:31:40 AM
Check this out.  Having gotten my PPL at USAFA, I got to know a few of the tow plane pilots that work there.  These guys are phenomenal pilots that work in the busiest VFR airpspace in the United States.

Watch them recover from a micro-burst event on the tarmac.  I've experienced these events myself and tell you they are no joke.

That is absolutely unbelievable! How those tow planes managed to get safely in the air under those conditions is simply amazing and an example of some excellent piloting skills for sure.

Thanks Warren.
