Wow some nice equipment there!! Just saw this post figured i would show a pic of my little setup. I mostly just mess around with some local friends and record a little on the computer. Been playing for about 17-18 years or so. Used to be pretty serious about playing but now its just for fun. Nice to see some guitar playing sim builders here :)

I also play the guitar. Got a few standing in the corner. I play more or less every day and have occasional gigs in the kindergarden. Very good audience :D No complaints on record hehe

This one arrived New Years Eve.

Mike, is that an Alesis ADAT in the bottom of your rack?

Yeah, sure is lol.. That thing is considered ancient i guess now.. Any recording i do is done on the computer using Sonar. Do you have an ADAT as well?

No, I'm still working with analog. TASCAM 38 1/2" eight track, and a TASCAM 52B 1/4" half-track mastering deck.

I looked at those decks when they were first introduced back in the 90's, but I couldn't afford one then. I looked at the TASCAM DA88 too but that was even higher.

Now they're all $100-$200 on e-Bay. Go figure.

Yeah amazing how cheap you can buy them now.. Thats why i still have mine. Its not worth selling for 200 bucks. I would rather  keep it just incase i use it someday.

Have you ever tried any recording software for the computer? I find it so easy and the quality of effects you can add are great. Also easy to burn right to a CD after mixdown.

I can't mix with a mouse. I need a desk.

Just like my 727, they can keep all of that computer recording stuff. Give me old school analog manual recording any day.

lol i hear ya.. You can integrate a board to the software and mix that way as well.. fully recordable slider inputs. Even have mixers with motors on the sliders. But there is that  automation again :)
